The 'Blue Aster' tropical water lily, hybridized by Charles Winch, is an award-winning variety (winner of the IWGS award for Best New Waterlily in 2005) characterized by intense bluish-purple flowers with many extra petals and stamens, giving them a full and lush appearance. The pads (leaves) are mottled with dark purple, adding further visual interest even when the plant is not in bloom. It is a medium to large-sized water lily, suitable for medium to large ponds. Like all tropical water lilies, it requires full sun, water temperatures between 68-86°F (20-30°C), a clay-based substrate, and regular fertilization.

For tropical water lilies, adequate fertilization is strongly recommended as they require a lot of nutrients to grow optimally. In the fertilizer section you will find Pondtabbs fertilizer, in the form of small tablets, specifically designed for aquatic plants. This allows for vigorous growth and abundant flowering of the purchased plants.
