Selected medaka in bright orange/red. Pair, male + female.
Excellent for controlling mosquitoes in small ponds or city tanks, where the natural predators of mosquitoes struggle to establish themselves.
Beautiful to look at thanks to their varied colours.
They survive all year round in outdoor tanks and ponds, even under ice.
A supplement of 5 euros is charged for the shipping of fish to cover packaging costs.

Medaka, also known as paddy fish or rice fish, are small freshwater fish of Asian-Japanese origin belonging to the family Adrianichthyidae. Their scientific name is Oryzias Latipes.
They can reach a maximum length of about 3 cm and adapt well to any situation, even in shallow water.
They breed easily: the female carries the eggs attached to her body, where they are fertilised by the male; she then attaches the fertilised eggs to submerged plants, and they hatch in 10-15 days.
A medaka lives about 2-3 years, which is precisely why they reproduce so much.
They do not need any special feeding; in a balanced tank they find the food they need to survive, but if you wish you can also feed them just finely crushed goldfish food.
Be aware that if you feed them they may become lazy and not prey on any mosquito larvae present in the tank.
