Description
  • Height: 80 cm (32")
  • Flowers per stem: 3-4
  • Characteristics and comments: Louisiana irises are hardy varieties, suitable for growing in damp areas and at the edges of ponds, but also in normal soil or in pots, as long as they are watered adequately.

They can be bought at any time of year, but the best time is late summer/autumn, from July/August to October, so that they can be planted and flower well the following spring.

Cold-resistant, they do not suffer from staying outside in winter; if grown in a pond they can be placed in water at a maximum depth of 15-20 cm.

Flowering takes place in May/June.
