- Characteristics and comments: Let yourself be enchanted by the tropical waterlily 'Bayou Blue', with its eye-catching dark blue flowers. The large flowers bloom from June to October, offering a long-lasting display. This variety, hybridised by Presnell in 2000, is perfect for medium and large ponds and requires the typical care of tropical waterlilies: full sun, warm water and winter protection.
For tropical waterlilies adequate fertilisation is strongly recommended, as they need plenty of nourishment to grow at their best. Being a tropical plant, it needs suitable temperatures to grow at its best, and in winter this type of plant must be moved to a place where the temperature does not fall below 10 degrees.
